At least 70 per cent of sexual gender-based violence has been reported and is currently being attended to, as well as 46 cases of rape have been recorded by Carolina for Kibera (CFK) Africa, a non-governmental organisation empowering youth In Slums; a youth-centred and community-aligned with headquarters in Kibera.
On Wednesday, led by CFK programs manager Mediatrix Tuju in collaboration with other stakeholders, the team organised an Intergenerational Public Panel Discussion at Kibera’s Kamukunji Grounds, addressing pressing issues affecting youth in Kibera: the high rates of teenage pregnancy and school-related gender-based violence (SRGBV).
