At the 2005 Global Health Summit in NYC, CFK Africa was named a Global Health Hero by TIME Magazine and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
In 2006, ABC World News awarded CFK Africa co-founder, Rye Barcott, Person of the Year for his service as a U.S. Marine and his work in Kibera.
CFK Africa was featured as the cover story on an issue of TIME Magazine for Kids, titled A Higher Goal: Soccer is Helping Kenyan Kids Get Set for the Future.
The Oklahoma City National Memorial and Museum honored CFK Africa with the 2008 Reflections of Hope Award.
