CFK Africa is youth-centered and community-aligned.
We envision a future where a generation of healthy, educated, and innovative youth in informal settlements become visionary leaders and change-makers, facilitated by digital connectivity.
What do you think Boston will look like? What do you want the world to know about you? What are your football dreams? Through a highly competitive process, Festival 26 selected six CFK youth to represent Kenya in Boston at a FIFA World Cup global youth leadership and sports program in July. It’s been no small accomplishment to get to this point – out of 48 participating delegations, CFK is one of just four from Africa. CFK Africa youth Harriet, Erick, Faridah, and Nehemiah share what they most look forward to about their upcoming experience in Boston. We are cheering these young athletes on!

What does #soccer make possible? For youth in Kenya’s slums, soccer is more than a game – it is a pathway to opportunity, leadership, and community. Since #CFKAfrica’s earliest days, soccer has been a core part of our work, creating safe spaces, building confidence, and connecting youth with trusted mentors. Today, on World Football Giving Day, CFK Africa joins partners around the globe in celebrating the power of soccer to transform lives. The first moments after birth are vital for a newborn’s survival and development. Recently, the #CFKAfrica team took part in Essential Newborn Care and Helping Babies Breathe training, in collaboration with Jhpiego and Nairobi City County. This training provides healthcare providers with essential skills for immediate care, warmth, early breastfeeding support, and interventions for babies who do not breathe at birth. For mothers at Tabitha Maternity Home, this means better support and skilled care when it matters most.
Throwback to 2021, at the height of COVID-19, when handwashing became one of the simplest but most important ways to protect communities from a global health threat. In #Kibera, #CFKAfrica teams made soap using locally available materials, distributed it across the community, and installed handwashing stations with a consistent supply of soap to help families stay safe. Looking back, this moment reminds us that public health protection starts with practical, community-led action, and that prevention remains one of the strongest ways to keep communities safe. #PublicHealth #CommunityHealth
