CFK Africa is youth-centered and community-aligned.
We envision a future where a generation of healthy, educated, and innovative youth in informal settlements become visionary leaders and change-makers, facilitated by digital connectivity.
At CFK Africa, we know that local champions are the real drivers of community change in slums. On August 9, 2025, our annual awards honored those who have committed their lives to our mission of empowering youth in slums, chosen from 650 nominations and 5,790 community votes. We also celebrated our Kibera Soccer Women FC’s historic win as FKF Women’s Cup Champions and presented the first Pheroze Nowrojee Social Justice Award to Binti Rashid, a teenage mother and advocate for girls’ empowerment in Kibera. Many thanks to the over 300 neighbors, friends, and stakeholders who turned out to celebrate. Let’s keep the momentum going. Because when Kibera rises, the world watches.

Read MoreWe are committed to connecting talented slum youth to opportunities. Our approach confronts the most critical obstacles at each stage of life, from poor childhood nutrition to lack of education and gainful employment.
We remove barriers to accessing quality health care.
We equip youth with education, employment, and advocacy skills.
We bring together partners to tackle community challenges.
CFK Africa is locally led. Since our founding in 2001, our participatory development approach has been rooted in the conviction that sustainable impact and solutions to poverty are only possible when the communities most affected are the real change-makers.
We engage community advisory boards, hold feedback sessions, and strengthen collaborations with like-minded organizations, building trust and credibility essential to the success of our programs.

Who says learning and personal growth can't be fun?? Yesterday’s session with our #CFKAfrica Lux Sit and Jim Rogers scholars was all of the above! We dove into student networking, team-building activities, and leadership development for our young scholars. These extracurricular programs that build community and offer peer mentorship for youth from slums are what set our scholarship program apart. We are building the next generation of leaders. #LuxSit #scholarships #youthleadership #teamwork

Our #MaleAllyship training continues! Boys and men are stepping up - from community dialogues to mentorship sessions, we’re fostering empathy, respect, and gender equity. Our allies are challenging harmful norms, standing against gender-based violence, and uplifting the voices of women and girls. Change starts at home. And in #Kibera, it’s starting with men. #CFKAfrica #GenderEquity #MenForChange #EndGBV
