CFK Africa is youth-centered and community-aligned.
We envision a future where a generation of healthy, educated, and innovative youth in informal settlements become visionary leaders and change-makers, facilitated by digital connectivity.
For 25 years, CFK Africa has worked alongside slum communities in Kenya to transform health systems, empower youth, and build local leadership. Join us for the US Book Launch of Still, I Rise, and the We Are Together Benefit in Charlotte, NC, on October 10th.

Read MoreWe are committed to connecting talented slum youth to opportunities. Our approach confronts the most critical obstacles at each stage of life, from poor childhood nutrition to lack of education and gainful employment.
We remove barriers to accessing quality health care.
We equip youth with education, employment, and advocacy skills.
We bring together partners to tackle community challenges.
CFK Africa is locally led. Since our founding in 2001, our participatory development approach has been rooted in the conviction that sustainable impact and solutions to poverty are only possible when the communities most affected are the real change-makers.
We engage community advisory boards, hold feedback sessions, and strengthen collaborations with like-minded organizations, building trust and credibility essential to the success of our programs.
With over two decades of work in our communities, CFK Africa has a proven track record of leading change.

Skills thrive when young people learn directly from experienced professionals. #CFKAfrica monitored the young #WomenatWork trainees in #Kibera, connecting them with master craftsmen and women in fields like hairdressing, beauty therapy, food production, and dressmaking. The visits showcased the practical skills being developed and the discipline required for each trade. These check-ins help us track progress, support trainers, and ensure ongoing training promotes pathways to income, dignity, and long-term economic independence. #SkillsDevelopment #EconomicEmpowerment
#CFKAfrica is supporting the Kibra Sub-County Health Management Team to conduct a community data review meeting focused on Event-Based Surveillance (EBS). The meeting brings together Community Health Promoters to review commonly reported health signals, identify reporting challenges, and strengthen response systems at the community level. Beyond data review, the session also builds CHP capacity in Risk Communication and Community Engagement, ensuring communities receive timely, clear, and practical information during public health threats. #CommunityHealth #DiseaseSurveillance
Service has always been at the heart of #CFKAfrica’s story. As part of our 25th anniversary weekend, community members, staff, volunteers, partners, and guests came together in #Kibera to serve, reflect, and celebrate the people who continue to make this work possible. Moments like these remind us that community-led change is built through shared responsibility, participation, and showing up for one another. Asante sana to everyone who joined us in service over the weekend. #CFKat25 #25YearsOfService
