“I can’t wait to make my own money through the skills gained to take care of my child and change my story.”

In regions where health systems can be stretched and outbreaks can spread quickly, early detection is what defines protection.

“While we produced simple maps of existing facilities, I see mapping as a way to tell stories about everyday practices and local knowledge.”

“Now, I encourage everyone, especially women, to be proactive about their health and go for annual cancer screening.”

“97% of mothers brought infants for first vaccinations, exceeding national immunisation coverage targets.”

“In Matsangoni, members of CFK Africa’s Girls’ Parliament put their learning into action.”

CFK Africa supports these teenage mothers in gaining financial independence by providing skills training and placing them in jobs in traditionally male-dominated fields.

“Their journeys have been marked by many ups and downs, and their accomplishments speak to extraordinary perseverance in the face of challenges of growing up in slums.”

“We have trained 200 CHPs, 100 in Makadara and 100 in Kamukunji, strengthening referrals from community to facility and facility back to community,” said Jane Ouko.

“The initiative dubbed, Women at Work, will provide them with valuable training to develop critical job skills often found in higher-paying, male-dominated fields.”
