“This experience has once again reminded me of the importance of cultural competence in public health initiatives and the value of shared experiences in fostering empathy and understanding.”
“I do not allow my circumstances to define me or my future,” Claudia says. “I am now working hard and smart in school and scoring good grades.”
“They gave me the best information, and now I can pass it on to others who may not know where to turn.”
Jane emphasizes the importance of funding to maintain these initiatives and invest in sustainable solutions that will keep the water in informal settlements safe and clean. She understands the importance of intersectional care for mothers, newborns, and children.
“My dream of becoming a nurse is now within reach.”
“We know that even putting food on the table, getting better clothing or shelter are not automatic as may be the case for other people elsewhere. This makes the gap plugged by Tabitha Maternity Home a higher imperative,” Jeffrey Okoro.

“Ensuring that expecting mothers have access to high-quality neonatal care and reducing the maternal mortality rate in informal settlements is a top priority for CFK Africa.”
