Two months into CFK Africa’s TechCraft apprenticeship program, Kennedy is embracing new opportunities.
“The organization emphasizes four models to support young people in informal settlements.”
“Supporting young people on the journey to improve their mental health, increase gender equity, and land good jobs will set them on a path to a brighter future.”
“I have learned the only initial prerequisites for becoming a successful leader are will and courage.”
“For young people in informal settlements, there are many different paths to a successful career, and we want to encourage all of them,” said CFK Africa Executive Director Jeffrey Okoro.
“CFK Africa’s TechCraft initiative aims to boost the lifetime earning potential of young people in Kibera and other informal settlements throughout the country by helping them get jobs in promising career paths.”
“This is a privilege and a chance to show the community that we can clean our environment ourselves,” one of the participating youth leaders said. “A clean environment means a better life.’’
CFK Africa is a registered NGO in Kenya and 501(c)(3) nonprofit in the U.S. that improves public health and economic prosperity in informal settlements through participatory research, primary health care, and education.
