Got an old smartphone sitting in a drawer after an upgrade or a portable charger you don’t use? Don’t let it go to waste! Put it to good use by supporting CFK Africa’s month-long cell phone drive this May.
Our dedicated staff, volunteers, and youth leaders in Kenya rely on cell phones to carry out essential work in the communities we serve. As devastating flooding continues to impact our informal settlement communities, CFK Africa’s emergency response requires swift and reliable communication.
Many currently make do with devices with cracked screens or, in some cases, have no phones at all. Your donation of gently used cell phone and/or portable cell phone charges will equip our team to efficiently respond to the ongoing flooding crisis in Kenya as well as collect documentation, gather community data, and capture essential photos needed for grants and foundation partnerships.
Rest assured, your donated phones will be handled with care. Our skilled IT department will thoroughly wipe them clean of all personal information before use. Phones will then be inventoried by our operations team and distributed according to need.
Donate your old devices during the month of May! To donate your old cell phones, drop them off in person or mail them to our US office in Chapel Hill at 1700 Martin Luther King Jr, Blvd. CB 3277, Chapel Hill, NC 27514. If you’re in the Triangle and can’t make it to our office, reach out to us at 919-962-6860 or admin@cfkafrica.org, and we can arrange a pickup. Additionally, any accompanying charging cords are greatly appreciated.
Your donation will play a crucial role in bridging the digital divide and will support our team in their emergency response work on the ground that informal settlements across Kenya urgently need.
Act now, as our US team will be traveling to Kenya in June to deliver the donated phones. The cell phone drive ends on May 31, so be sure to donate before then!
