2025: Our Year of Impact

For CFK Africa, 2025 was an extraordinary year of impact as we connected youth in Kenya’s slums to opportunities that advance global health, education, jobs, and girls’ rights.

We are pleased to present our interactive year-in-review. These impact numbers demonstrate the scale of our reach, the diversity of our programming, and the measurable outcomes we’ve achieved.

Our Best Schools Initiative improves learning outcomes for students in informal schools through education interventions co-created with communities.
Meet BSI Teacher, Garret
Our compound policing initiative harnesses the power of landlords and landladies to combat sexual and gender-based violence. We train landlords in effective intervention and reporting to help prevent harm before it occurs, building safer communities. We also provide guidance on making referrals to ensure comprehensive care for survivors.
Why Allyship matters
In 2025, we launched Her Dreams, a book project to share firsthand narratives from teenage mothers whose stories are filled with resilience yet remain largely unheard. Girls attended a retreat in August to produce the book, which will serve as a resource for other young mothers worldwide.
Post-Retreat Reflections
Teenage mothers in slums face significant challenges. Our Funzo Project provides pathways for young mothers to continue their education or vocational training, paired with safe space sessions and psychosocial support.

Beyond scholarship funding alone, our comprehensive Lux Sit & Jim Rogers Scholarship Program engages students outside of the classroom through mentorship, leadership training, career guidance, and community service.

Trained by our nutrition team, these local leaders drive change from within by holding nutrition support groups across the 13 villages of Kibera, teaching the community how to improve the nutrition and socio-economic status of young mothers and their children.

We leverage the power of sports and play to equip young people with information, services, and mentorship to live healthier lives.

Our Tabitha Maternity Home provides quality, accessible maternal and child health services that support patients in the entire continuum of pregnancy and newborn care.
Elizabeth's Double Blessing
Located in the heart of Kibera, our Tabitha Medical Clinic is a trusted provider of high-quality primary health care services in the community.
The impact of aid cuts
Our TechCraft workforce readiness program places youth in jobs, equipping them with the experience and support needed to build careers they care about.
Meet Regarne, TechCraft Leader
Our first-of-its-kind Youth Friendly Services Center in Kibera provides a comfortable and confidential setting for youth to access services related to physical, mental, and sexual and reproductive health. Recognizing that the most effective advocates for mental health are trusted peers, CFK trains and deploys Youth Peer Providers (YPP) to deliver health talks at local schools, reducing stigma around seeking help among young people in slums.
A Day in the Life of a YPP
We see community engagement as the core of community development, and we work hand in hand with communities in Kenyan informal settlements to take the lead in shaping change efforts.
