CFK Africa launched the expansion of its girls’ empowerment initiative this week to support teenage mothers. The Funzo project improves the health, wellness, and educational outcomes of teenage mothers residing in informal settlements in Kenya, including Nairobi and Kilifi Counties.
CFK Africa named 10 new recipients of its scholarship program designed to empower students in informal settlements to succeed throughout all four years of high school, bringing its total number of currently funded scholars to 92.
This month, CFK Africa announced a new partnership with We One Action Network (WOAN) to support its Best Schools Initiative in 2024, continuing the organization’s efforts to improve educational outcomes in informal settlements in Kenya.
“We expect even bigger things to come in 2024 between our new partnership with WOAN to support our Best Schools Initiative and our other efforts to catalyze youth leadership across informal settlements in Kenya.”
As the end of the year nears, we take a moment to pause and reflect on what we accomplished together in 2023.

CFK Africa has announced seven new members of its global Advisory Council who will provide expertise as the organization plans to expand access to health care, improve educational outcomes and provide mentorship to girls and young women.
