CFK Africa’s Senior Youth Program Officer, Martha Otieno was live on Radio Citizen speaking about how hands-on skills training is creating real employment opportunities for youth in Kibera.

“The launch event affirmed several truths for me: that many are committed to ending GBV, that community ownership is key, and that extraordinary potential exists when people unite around a shared cause.”

“Change is rarely linear, impact takes time, and contexts change, especially in dynamic environments like the informal settlements in which CFK Africa works.”

Jane emphasizes the importance of funding to maintain these initiatives and invest in sustainable solutions that will keep the water in informal settlements safe and clean. She understands the importance of intersectional care for mothers, newborns, and children.

Youth expressed a need for a safe, private space to access services and engage in recreational activities, making YFS a distinctive facility in Kibera.
